Waterproofing under aluminum skin??

Postby LDK » Sat Aug 14, 2010 10:38 am

Should I waterproof the floor and sidewalls inside and out and if so what should I use? I'm gonna use aluminum for the outer skin. Thanks in advance.--------Larry

I'm either gonna use 3/8" or 1/2" acx plywood. I may have to use 3/8" because I ended up making my floor framing 47-3/16" wide. I'm making a 4x8 trailer.

I've used regular enamel latex paint under mine when I skinned over with aluminum. Had plenty just laying around - needing to be used - didn't really matter about the color 'caus I was covering it up anyways.

I used CPES. I love the stuff!

I didn't use aluminum skin, but still needed to protect the plywood.

Anything applied is better than nothing from Paint to CPES.

I use Thompsons Water Seal OR if I have any Varnish thats about to go bad (Thinned).

Looks don't mean a thing.

Happy Trails
