Floor Coating?

Need some opinions,

I am at the point where I need to seal/coat my floor before I start working on the walls.

What do you guys suggest for a nice looking and durable finish for the floor. It is made from 3/4" birch ply, I couldn't stand to let my wife cover it in linoleum.

I am looking for an amber or cherry coloring, but am flexible. Danish Oil? Spar Varnish? Minwax stain and poly? Straight Poly?

All thoughts are welcome!

Thanks,

John

Thanks Jack,

Is Spar Varnish actually different than Polyurethane? As long as its durable enough I'll probably go with that (Spar Varnish).

John,

The spar varnish will give a nice amber or golden color to the birch. Polyurethanes, especially water based, are almost colorless.

BTW, your build is really looking nice!

Thanks Tom,

My wife and I finally got the floor flipped back over and set in position. After I finish coating the floor, I will bolt it down in position and then start working on the walls.

I'm REALLY ready to start on the walls, like you said, thats when it begins to feel like a camper.

As for looking nice, its all about picture selection if you know what I mean.
