Which is best ? more water tight while driving ?

I don't think I've ever seen one that wasn't mounted with the hinge forward. Mounted with the hinge rearward is a sure way to have the lid ripped off if you don't have it closed tight.

...hinge to the front...please...we don't want to give any darwin awards around here(if we don't have to)
