HELP!! my galley hinge shrunk!

Postby cleave » Sat Jul 02, 2005 7:28 pm

well, not exactly, but I've got the same problem as if it did.... In our zeal to create the perfect interior cabin size, we decided to widen the frame a bit. 2 bits actually. I just realized that I told Grant that my TD would be 5' wide so he sent the hinge at 60 3/4". SO, my hinge is about 3/8" short on each side. An invitation for water to "drop" in. I don't really want to order another hinge so I'm looking for modifications that might solve this problem. I'm thinking of placing an aluminum molding under the ends of the hinge to extend over the edges, but I'm not exactly clear on how that may work. I'm turning to you all for a little guidance...please?

Thanks. Later.

I think drip cap might be a good idea for you.
