Veneer

I am looking for some veneer to make business cards out of. Does anyone here know of what type of business would it? I know Menards doesn't, would a regular lumberyard carry it? I would rather buy it from someone local rather than order it and have to have it shipped if possible.

Check out your local hardwood store also. The one by me I can get 4x8 foot sheets of veneer. Now the question is though will the veneer stand up to being a business card...I think you might want something thicker unless you are going to apply the veneer to a thicket substrate, like card stock paper.

Just my opinion

I have no idea if it will work, that is why I am looking for someplace local that has some in stock so I can see what is available but I don't even know what types of business I should be looking for in the phone book.

I had this company http://cardsofwood.com/ make my business cards years ago. They are pricey but they work. People kept them because they were unusual.

You can get small rolls of veneer at most lumberyards and big box home improvement stores, and the larger lumber yards should carry larger pieces. I think it's a neat idea!

... then there's 1/64" plywood , available at most any Hobby Shop...gotta be more stable than just veneer...

I think I will have to try the hobby shop for the thin plywood I found some veneer at Menards but it was either paper backed or pre glued.

And to bobhenry and Woodbutcher, I thought I had an original idea, but I guess not.
