I know this stuff has been dealt with before, but I want to know if this is something that would work well in a TD. I want to be able to run off battery when no "power" is available, but will likely use "shore power" most of the time. Will this unit allow me to do both easier and safer than a battery/charger system?

I am also using a converter. I plan on using it without a battery for most of the time. When I go on a primitive camping trip I will add a battery to the system. I think it is a great way to go.

Are most of your appliances, lights, whatever, going to be 12 volt or 120 volt? If 120 volt then this is probably not what you want.
This device serves two purposes. 1) it converts 120 volts to 12 volts so that you can run 12 volt appliances and lights when you are plugged into shore power. 2) it charges your 12 volt battery when you are plugged into shore power.
