How do I find a company with a 4x8 CNC router?

Does anyone have any tips on how to find companies that have a CNC router that handles 4' x 8' sheet goods?

I've got some ideas and want to talk to someone in my local area about having some things made and haven't had any luck with the regular searches.

Would cabinet makers have such an item?

Thanks for any help that can be provided.

Not that my ideas usually yield anything fruitful but I'm looking to at least get some answers to some $$$ questions about production of parts.

Yea, I'm not really up for building my own CNC at this moment in time.

Maybe once I get into a new place but the drive is to move OUT of this place first, so no more big items that have to be moved.

The problem is anyone with a CNC router that large it isn't going to pay to cut plywood on it for the most part. I have a CNC table we use here at the shop and for what I would charge someone to throw a sheet up there and run it assuming they already had the GCode I needed to cut it would put teardrop makers into well tears.

I think that it is mainly guys with ShopBot CNC routers. Very capable machines with out the "big iron" prices.

I own a ShopBot 4x8 and have found the ShopBot community to be full of very helpful and talented people. Much like the people on this forum.

You could also check out the ShopBot page www.shopbottools.com
to learn more about what they are capable of doing and by requesting on their forum http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=11 you could locate individuals that may not be listed on the 100k garages.
The thing about ShopBot CNC machines is that many people have them in garages or small shops with out the cost and overhead of a larger building and high dollar machine.

Just call 2-3 shops and if they don't have one ask if they know who does. We have pieces of equipment that nearly everyone in the region will have to use on certain jobs and other shops are the same to us. Trust me, everyone knows what the other shop has equipment/capability wise.

If you haven't already, call some sign farication shops. There is one near where where I work that even spells out that they do "custom signs and CNC work." I have no idea what the charge though.

Are there any local "hobby shops" that have a 4' X 4' router ? A guy would have to dial it in one more time, but it would get the job done.
