Well; I have five coats of spar varnish on the woody Just completed the galley and all the wiring except the exterior lights. (Got some tricky stuff in the stove support):roll:
Taking a break to go to the Cape for a week of paddling, fishing and goofing off! When I return, I'll hinge the doors and hatch, mount fenders, and then off to Mystic!!!YAHOO!!

You have convinced me to do my TD in wood. I really like the way yours has come out.

Why are you applying 5 coats of Spar Varnish on it? Are you concerned with UV degredation of the wood? How often do you plan to recoat?

I am planning on using 2X cedar cut in to 1/4" strip for my top and for the sides I am going to use 3/8" strips (will give it a little raise to them) in something more like a lightning bolt for the side inserts.

Your stove table is very clever. I was going to use a pullout drawer. But, that creates more storage space available.

Another question came to mind.

Have you thought of how you will keep rocks from chipping the front of the trailer? Are you going to use a bra or whiskers on the bumper of your truck?

maybe you could use a small strip of aluminum. Then trim your tear with aluminum trim like most tear builders do so it all blinds together.

Thanx for the vote of confidence . The varnish protects the epoxy from degradation in the sun, also looks nice . As for protecting the front, I might go with a mud flap or brush type curtain like on motorhomes? It sits a little high, 14", so, I hope to miss the road rash! We'll see this weekend, after the trip to Mystic.

Thanx for the nice comment. I tried to figure out a simple no fuss way to support the stove, I think it will work.

Not using any aluminum trim, but I have been thinking about a shield bolted to the tongue, could be made of aluminum or stainless.

Very sweet looking galley Steve. One readily tell that you put a lot of thought and effort into it. Keep up the good work.

Steve, Your tear looks absolutely super, it sure shows the time and thought put into gear before I might add master woodsmith went to work!
