This question may have been beaten to death but I cant find it? Me and my 3 brothers are each building teardrops. We want to put in a pre-built door. Anyone out there know who manufactures them? I have seen some teardrop sites sell them, but they have to buy them somewhere right??

Try e-bay. I heard some people found doors that way.

I too am looking at the all smoked glass doors being sold on Ebay. Has anybody used them and what do you think? How do the windows open on these (slider, crank ect). Although more spendy, I believe they will be easier and more "bulletproof".

Yeah I admit Im looking at 1 too. It doesnt work with the "look" Im attempting. I might just cut down a real door to fit. I want 1 of those split "french" doors so I can close the bottom and leave the top open...guess I can make a screen for the top for ventilation...cause Im sure it gets "still" inside during the summer.

I know that caseydog used the 'Little Guy' type doors on his latest build, & I think I remember Charles (CocaCola Teardrop) speaking of some experience with them. Perhaps they can give you some info...

Prefab doors are available at www.bigwoodycampers.com. You can also find a kit there for everything needed for traditional doors.

I bought them for my camper and am very happy. Doors on hinges (obviously, right!) and windows slide up. Entire door is smoked glass. And I would do it again in a heartbeat.

For me it bought peace of mind, and a relatively "easy" installation.

I wasn't sure of my own personal construction skills/knowledge to make something that would function properly (not to mention air & water-tight)...coupling that with the cost of acquiring two sets of windows, latches, locks, handles, hinges and anything else I left out, and it was the safer way for me.

Certainly a big bite in the wallet all at once...but the time involved to research how to do it and then construct it (again, for me), while adding up the cost of acquiring all the parts, and it was my best route. (Note: "my" best route.)

All the best!
