Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Yeah!

I just finished up tonight bolting down the wood bed to the frame of the trailer on my Cubby build.

It is starting to feel like a real trailer.

Too bad I had to make the first bed, realize I did it wrong, then make another (NOWHERE IN KUFFEL CREEK PLANS does is say to CUT DOWN THE 4X8 PLYWOOD!!!)

Oh, well, the only way I seem to do anything right is by doing it twice anyways....

Photos on my album if anyone cares to look. OK.. So right now it looks just like anyone else's Cubby... well, I am still excited anyways..

But if you look at the shop drawings, way, way BACK in the plans, they give you the reduced dimensions for the wood frame and ply floor.

I am building a Cubby also, and that will not be the last time that you may run into something that does not seem to be in the plans the way you would expect. Make sure and try to read through the whole thing and try to uunderstand the next step or two thoroughly before proceeding. Taking a little more time to ensure that you understand is well worth the extra time.

You seem to have a great start and hope you enjoy the rest of the build. I did things alot differently than the plans, and have run into a few glitches. I just had to figure out how to work around them and keep going. If you are not changing the 'way' that the plans are (like I did) and just make modifications, you should not have too many problems.

I'm building the Comet, not the Cubby. But like a "Real Man" I only use the plans for a tire chalk... I"ve actually learned more from the great people on this site (except for spelling) than I did from the plans. Having said that I'd still recommend the plans to anyone. Like most I needed a place to start. Thanks Uncle Kevin
