Well I am still on crutches and the weathers isnt playing so I can take up the whole garage with the project so I am in thinking mode.

When i dry fitted the wood doors before the accident, they were not plumb with the sides. there was almost a 1/2 gap.

been thinking of many fixes including using a wood jamb of some sort, not sure i am making sense, not enough twinkies today.

Another idea and going with the Jeep theme I have going on is to have the doors be fabric and zippered. I am now heavily leaning toward having my rear hatch being fabric. I plan on going to a awning store here locally that also makes custom boat covers. get thier opinion on it.

I purchased some windows from a guy who was parting out and refurbing old slide in campers. he shows me how he was using the ridgid insulation the thick pink and blue stuff you can buy a lowes. He cuts to size of door needed; then laminates a sheet of aluminum on top. It was really strong.
It didn't flex, stronger than the cargo door I installed.
You probly could laminate frp to it and light weight as well
I might give it a try next time around

How exactly would one laminate aluminum like that?

mastic or adhesive spray
