In reference to an e-mail i received from member IraRat about the "Hobbit windows" I build for my teardrops..
The windows are built as I build the doors and are not a unit that can just be installed in the door. I am trying to figure out a way that I can manufacture a unit that can be installed by anyone, but as of noe the only way I could offer them is to have the doors shipped here for installation.
I would be willing to write up a set of instructions on how they are built.
It is relatively simple and does not require any special tools.
And yes, Ira they could be done in brass.

Steve--that's really nice of you. I was amazingly impressed with that design...how perfect. Also, looks pretty easy to waterproof.

I'm doing a nautical theme, and although I planned a half-a**ed inexpensive porthole solution by putting round porthole window in the doors, your design looks incredible, and I could use these existing "portholes" I have for something else.

My doors aren't built yet, so my timing may be perfect.

Please keep me updated on this--as a manufacturer, it's really great of you to lend your expertise. Plus, I will gladly pay for the design, if I can indeed do this with no special tools!

Thanks again! Have a great weekend, and I look forward to hearing more from you about this real soon!

Steve,
I would be interested in a copy of the Hobbit window info. They do look cool!
Thanks,
