What does everyone do to protect the interior walls? I really like the nice clean look of the birch walls but I think I may need to seal them? I am worried if I leave them without a sealant then cleaning them will be difficult or they may get stained. I have 2 dogs I am sure will brush up against the walls at some point.
What did everyone do? I used polyurethane on the exterior should I use this on the inside. Will it darken the wood or make is shiny? It seemed to do this on the exterior plywood.

Hi there,
I sealed my inner walls with Polyacrylic Satin finish by General Finishes, 4 coats, sand with 240 between coats, it is truly a clear finish which claims will not yellow with age.

Hi Burro,
You will want to seal the inside - there will be condensation. I used a varnish which yellowed the wood in a good way, but if you want it to be clean looking an epoxy should work good. A good paint store can set you up. Whatever you choose, try it on a piece of scrap first just to make sure.
Have fun, Mark

Minwax Helmsman. Tough as nails. Used it in the galley also. Water proof and UV protection to boot!

Yep... & yep - the Minwax Helmsman Spar Urethane brings out the natural wood grain without changing the color(hue?). I used it on birch plywood in my galley, & on oak plywood in the cabin, & after nearly 5yrs it's required only minor 'touch-up' to keep it looking good & performing well -
