Thinking of spraying my standie with Lizard Skin insulation because of the heat here in Arizona.

I have worked around ceramic insulation in industrial settings (mostly refineries). My question would be cost vs benefit and who else is doing what?

Looks like an interesting product. Where you plan to put it? Inside the walls or on the exterior?

Thought about spraying the inside then put rigid foil backed ISO insulation over that. I looked into roll on ceramic insulation that you can order from Home Depot but it only comes in 5 Gallon buckets and cost about $600.00. I think I might just use Dynamat like I put in my streetrod. Both will be a little pricey.

I couldn't find any R value for this type of ceramic coating. At .050 thickness I doubt it has much for conduction of heat. The biggest benefit seems to be reducing absorption of sunlight. Seems like an awing would work just as well if not better for a fraction of the price plus you could move it to provide shade for yourself when required. The ceramic stuff probably would be much good in the cold.

I dunno but those are the thoughts that come to mind.

There won't be a R value but it is just like putting a ceramic coatings on headers it does cut down the heat about 30 to 50 degress. If you look at McMaster carr they insulation and there insulation with ceramic costs more and has a better R value.
