Help needed on TV install

Hi all, I am not a wood working guru and need technical help.
I just got my Little Guy Silver Shadow, and I have a under counter LCD TV I want to mount to the ceiling. It only weights 6lbs. The screws only come in from the top down. That makes it hard to install
I contacted Little Guy, and they told me that there are 2X2 supports are 6" apart by the ceiling vent, and one 6" back. My thoughts are to take two strips of 2X1 birch ply wood, and attach them to the TV lengthwise to where they extend past the edge of the TV, and screw the front into the 2X2 at the back of the ceiling vent, and the back flush mounted against the cabinet.
Does this sound good, or does anyone have any ideas? Pictures would help a lot.
Thank you,
John
