Search tools and paint

Postby Chef_Stan » Mon Jul 11, 2011 7:26 pm

Hi all,
Is there a search tool on this forum so I can try to look up answers before asking question which have probably been asked many times over?

What do people typically use as paint for the exterior of the tear if you were to go that route? I would presume that house paint would not put up with the abuse of bugs and road grit hitting it.

Thanks

Stan, there is a search button in the top of page index(second button from top left)...it is bit clunky...add the work"AND" between any words entered...house paint, both oil and latex based have both been used with mixed results...marine topside paint, a one part urethane based paint has had a bit more success and would be my minimum recommendation...it all depends on how you store/use it(teardrop) and how good your surface prep is.........

What MJ said.

The search button is your friend. If you are searching something with two words in it like "gas struts" put the word and between the two words. If you just type in "gas struts" it will pull up every post with "gas" OR "struts" in the post.

I painted my teardrop with the same paint that they painted my trailer with. It's a two part Valspar Supreme Acrylic Enamel. It has held up well so far. People here have used house paint with varying degrees of success.

I was wondering why the water balloon was getting bigger... and then it hit me.

Don't forget about using sdtripper's index also. It is located in the menu at the top of the page
