Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

does anyone have pics or ideas for haveing a lil hideaway table inside there teardrop? like maybe a fold up one or a droped down one ? id like to put a benchlike area in my build , like a futon bed , and maybe the table could b raised from the floor ......

A fold down table is pretty easy to build.
Here are a couple pictures of one I did for my trailer.

We needed a table/shelf for a spot to place a small DVD player, laptop, heat cube, etc. Didn't want to use wall space for a fold-up so I salvaged a set of 'glides' from the keyboard table of an old computer desk that was being junked. Glued & screwed a couple of 'rails' to underside of my cabinets, made a shelf from 3/4" plywood with solid wood front, & added a 'snap fastener' tab from an old folding boat seat to hold it in place while underway. Works great, is out of the way, & doesn't take up much space when not needed. Size can be whatever you need depending on size/strength of your rails & how it's fastened to the cabinets...

How about a footwell table?

I have a locker door in the side of mine, which when opened, allows for a 4ft table to slide out.

The legs tuck up under the table and it slides inside under the bed.

This photo shows the basic table, but not fully extended. You can have it at any length.



...... the table is at waist height and is 2ft wide.

I have been thinking of a footwell table with a futon mattress that could fold/slide up. How much of a pain in the butt is it to move around the mattress? I am thinking the table would be priceless on bad weather days, and maybe at other times too.

I am thinking of doing a trolly top so between the footwell and the top I am thinking I might squeeze in 5' 8" or there about. which might be nice in winter situations as well.

Do you feel that the effort of construction for the foot well and table was worth it? Where do you source the table leg and two leg inserts (top and bottom plate?
