Bought a homemade wooden tear with square van windows that I want to replace, and have several questions. The rough opening is 16 3/4x16 3/4. Want to replace with a larger window (slider). Before I order, want to draw a template on the door to make sure there is room for them on my door without getting into hinge or edge of door. How do you draw the template to accommodate a "90 degree 3" radius window" as advertised by the vendors? How far does window edge typically extend beyond opening?

Thanks

 You get a compass to draw the curve.

On the lip overhang, I'd call up the vendor and ask about the specific windows dimensions. Without knowing whose window it is I can't imagine anyone being of much help.

Call the vendor and ask for a template of the window.Make sure to ask the thickness and width of the trim so you know how much it will hang over the opening.
