I work for a cabinet company as the service person over a large area of GA and I visit alot of sites. Well last several times I go by one large builder who I have 10 different subdivisions that I work in, has had a lot a/c ducting setting in the trash piles. I picked up a bunch of the larger sizes today as they have a pretty thick insulatuon in them figurinhg on using it under the roof skin as its very flexible and I can even stack it and compress it in the space and not mess with the cutting to maje channels for the wiring. Here is the pile I picked up today and as I will be going by 2 more sibdivisions tommorow I can pick up more.Image

Since its free I figure what the hay . So what do ya'll think, good idea or bad?

I don't think this insulation has very good insulation values if compressed very much. It might stay in place since it is bonded to the backing and not pack at the bottom of the wall.

It looks like it would be great for the roof but I wouldn't pack it very tight either. If building was going on around here, I'd go pull some of that out of the trash too!

Thanks huys I will use the 1/2" pink board I bought 6 months ago and then put this on top and not pack it in. I picked up enough today for the next project and will just set it up in the attic for now , with out the wifey seeing me do it.
