So, my doors are cut, walls aren't up yet, and had a change in mattresses. The problem, the new one is 2'' shorter and comes right to the bottom of the door. Is this a big deal for getting in and out? The rails on my waterbed are about an inch higher then the mattress and that's ok, but the WB isn't as high up either.

If ya find it a pain it the tail bone just add a good quality mattress topper. Might make for better sleeping also !

I added 2 layers of 3/4 blue foam and a layer of osb to the floor of my tear to insulate and sound deaden the floor and our mattress is now slightly above the door threshold. So you can raise the mattress or just make it thicker

Your waterbed has a padded top rail, doesn't it??

If it's a problem, make some sort of pad. Maybe a large weather strip???

dh like Bob said add 3" to the mattress! In my lil tear when we cut all the foam and the memory topper for it we thought it would be fine. First time Sheri got out and she pinched the back of her calf we were making a trip to wal-mart and purchasing more foam. She had a big red welt across there that was not pretty. Now it didn't bother me as I was sleeping in and was letting her get breakfast , so I got the warning :R .

Actually, no it doesn't, just 1 1/4" thick oak boards, no padding. To tell the truth, I like it better then my old one with the padded rails.
