It just wasn't meant to be...

I was going to build my water tank mounts today and was drilling the first of 12 holes and when the drill broke through, my only ''I'' drill bit snapped. So, I'll just go ahead and tap it, no porblems there, until I go to put the bolt in the tapped hole. I asked for 5/16'' bolts at Fastenal, and got 5/16'' fine thread bolts. So I just caved in and am taking it as a sign that it isn't meant to be, at least not today.

dh,

Ouch!

Are you working in my garage? Sounds like my luck. The only exception would be, I would have HAD all the holes tapped for 5/16 course, & had a sack full of metric left handed extra fine thread bolts. Hey, my luck would have also been to break the bit off and gouge a hole through the tank.

I have luck like they used to sing about on HeeHaw,.... if it weren't for bad luck I have no luck at all, WwwOOOooooohhh, gloom, dispare, and agony on me.

(if ya'll don't understand HeeHaw out there on the West coast, maybe some of the Southern folks can help you out, go ahead, you know who you are, don't be afraid to ask)

Don't feel like the lone stranger..

Trimming the frp on the front of the 4x7 yesterday I was holding up the top layer to cut it with my 4" grinder without cutting thru the under layer it overlaps. Well long story short you can not stop a grinder with an index finger. I was so mad I worked on , and the white nose of the trailer looked like a slaughter house floor. Well as always the bleeding finally stopped.
So about an hour later I somehow managed to rip a thumbnail clear back into the quick. Now fuming I grabbed a pair of pliers and ripped it off. Damn my eyes water thinking about that moment.

Must have been a weird moon phase :?

Voice of experience here, maybe some of you will want to file this away for next time it happens to you: You can glue damaged and torn nails back in place with crazy glue. Use a new tube as it will improve you changes of avoiding a nail bed infection (you don't want that). Don't use that tube for anything else while the replacement nail grows in and carry the tube around with you as you will likely find yourself re-gluing two or three times a week, mostly depending on how wet your hands get over the course of a day. You can even use crazy glue to recreate missing pieces of a torn nail.

Like I said, voice of experience. You mileage may vary.
