Ok all quick question about insulating the top! I've several people on here when they use foam board insulation they cut grooves for the wires, On mine I will beusing foam board on the bottom and insulation from a/c duct tubing on top of it,should I groove the foam and not cover the wires with the other stuff, or will they be oksince the stuff is not heavy? Just making sure their is no danger from something on the 12V wires and batthery wires.

I cut a partial groove/slot for the wires on the major bundle which runs down one side, but it gets completely covered with insulation. When I run across for the fan and lights, I just insulate right over them. A helpful tip: once you get the wires where you want them, add an extra loop right at the appliance or fixture. That extra is nice if you have to pull some wire on a repair in the future. Doug

Thanks Doug and my friend JR did just that with the wiring as he said the extra will make it easier if I decide to change fixtures for different ones, led's. Cool tonight I caulked all the holes with silicone and the edges of the headliner and the wall from the top. I think I will just slide the foam under the wires and then put the blanket style insulation I have from A/C ducting (silver tubes) on top then the skin.
