For several months I have had an idea that camping sucks. Loading all our gear for the wife 2 kids and me in the minivan to head out to the wilderness. I have often thought that a trailer with a place for everything and everything in its place would be better. After the rain storm camping trip last weekend I said ENOUGH!!! I am building a camp trailer. So on Monday morning I sat down and www.google.com found camp ADK. Nice gally yea thats what I want then the rest of the week surfing through links and more.

Well today I bought my 4x8 trailer and I'm heading home to start. Mine will not be a teardrop but a camp trailer for storing the tent and everything. The galley will be incorporated into the rear of the trailer like many of the tears. Thank you for all your inspiration. My next will be a tear.

Why not build a tear now?
Attach a tent to the side of it like Bill R did:Image

You can still haul all of your camping stuff inside!!

Welcome. The trailer design sounds interesting.

We will all be very interested to see your extensive photo diary of the build and the professional quality pics you'll be taking of the finished product in use.

It's not like you can claim you don't know how to use a camera, or it costs too much to use it, can you?..........

The biggest reason for not building a tear now? My wife want to use it on vacation at the Outer Banks over labor day weekend. The means I have just under 2 weeks to launch. This will require somthing easier to build than a teardrop. This will also allow me to practice my construction skills.

Ben, are you gonna have walls and a roof like a conventional tear?
