AERO FIBERGLASS FENDER UPDATE

Postby Steve_Cox » Mon Aug 22, 2005 7:27 pm

Fedex delivered the 1934 Reproduction fenders from Aero Fiberglass today, for those that followed the thread and PM'd about them, I offer the following observations. Packaging was adaquate. The gelcoat looked pretty good and the glass mat was well saturated with resin, I didn't see any voids or problems. The inside flanges look flat and substantial. The weight seems to be about 8-10 lbs or so each. All in all I'm happy with them and would buy again. I don't know how they compare with other fiberglass fenders, maybe some day we will get a chance to do a side by side comparison. I got the look I wanted but I think I saved quite a bit of money. Here is a link to the original thread if you want to go there. http://tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?t=4635

...Steve, thanks for the update, construction wise, it sounds like they compare favorably with the RW Jonhson fenders

Which fender did you get exactly? The "38 Ford Pickup Front Fender?" or was it the "Trailer fender set? (what year)"
Finally, What are dimensions? Specifically the width.

Asianflava,
I never thought about using front fenders, cause I don't have front wheels on my TD
the fenders in the pictures are Aero 1934 trailer fenders. Overall length about 49.5 inches. Overall height about 18.5 inches. Inside width at the top between the flange and the outer edge, about 11.25 inches. Hope this helps.

ps - To save you the trouble of looking for it, the wheels are 15X6 w/ 205/R70 15 tires. The fenders could handle a little bigger tire than that.

Steve,
Those look really nice. They go great with those wheels.
