Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Ok all been taking my time to work on the tear after gurting my lower back. Back in Nov. I used PL on the front first skin and used T3 on the rest of the tears (2/3) along with screws and staples and straps to hold skins in place. First one one week and the rest the next weekend and keft screws and straps on for a week before I took them off. Fast forward to this weekend and I started puttying holes and routed the edges to get ready to tape and epoxy the edge seams and I noticed after using the round over bit I suddenly have thin gaps where the glue didn't hold:







The middle pic is where I used a putty knife to insert more glue in and shot a few staples there to hold it down some.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated, I don't want to take all rhe skins off and redo but I have already decided that if I need to I will .

Cliff, is that plywood the finished surface or is there metal covering the roof?
If there is metal don't worry about it. If the wood is the finished roof and there are only a couple of spots you should also be OK. The key is not allowing water in to those spaces. If the problem is only on the edges I would fill the gaps with glue and build a corner molding or use the aluminum RV edge with a sealer under it to keep it water tight.
If it makes you feel better. I have one space between my 2 1/8th" roof skins that did not adhere. But it's not on an edge. The Epoxy sealed everything well and there have been no issues for 5 years

Thanks bud I will fill up with glue and I am going to tape and epoxy the seams which should keep it watertight I'm thinking. I was just curious as to who else this might have happened to and how they fixed it.

Are you sure that the glue didn't hold, or that it wasn't clamped down tightly on that portion during it's cure time. You heard it pop when you released the clamps? Doug
