Hi Guy's,
I'm sure that this has been visited many times but I don't think I quite have a grasp on the use of the search engine. Living here in Georgia air conditioning is kind of required because mainly the high humidity. I was thinking of mounting a small window unit on the front on top of the tool box witha travel cover. I read somewhere that was a bad idea. So where is a good place? My build is a 5x8 Benroy. Thanks a bunch.

A look through some of the build journals will give you some ideas. If I were doing AC, I think I'd build mine into the tongue box (easy on a benroy profile). That way it's protected from leaks while in transit. You'd have to make sure it was very well vented while in use or it would ice up (maybe just leave the lid of the tongue box open). People also put them in the galley (sacrifices space) or make cutouts in the sidewall to install them while camping (needs to be taken out and then put away every time you set up/pack up). There are pros and cons to every approach. Best of luck!

Or do what I did.
viewtopic.php?f=30&t=44561 Works very well and is much quieter than a hard mounting.

Those are both great ideas! I was looking at a box on top of a box but just building a little bigger box on the tongue would work. The AC conversion is awesome. I guess I need to find an old one to take apart and see exactly what you are talking about. I have to admit my knowledge of HVAC is at best limited. But thats a great job. I really don't want to put it in the galley. Momma needs all the room she can get when she starts cooking

Thanks guy's!!
