The time has come to seriously consider what I am going to do about windows for the Bungalette. I have been been looking at the windows on Ebay from Bottom Dollar Surplus out of Bronson Mi. They have great prices, but all their windows state that "trim rings are not included". My questions are is this a bad thing, is there a source for trim rings? Can a substitute for trim rings be fabbed up by me? Please someone! Push back my frontier of ignorance.

I have bought many windows from this guy. His address is Bronson indiana and the store is like a giant treasure box.

One window I went thrugh the outter flange into the wall with a stainless screw's, works great. Looks kinda hokie.

The other windows I went thrugh the side like a replacement house window into an oak strip in the wall. Looks clean and worked well.

That is the information that I was looking for. Did you drive screws through the trim rings and into the groove on the inside of the window? I can't see that in any of the pictures, but I am understanding that that is how an RV window mounts.

Thanks for the endorsement of this guy. I was a little afraid, because his prices were so good. I was afraid they might be TOO good. I am planning a trip to Elkhart for later this spring, so I am thinking about making arrangements to swing by and pick up my windows in person since it will only be 50 miles further. I am also thinking about your window mounting suggestions. They sound simple and effective.

Tom, I used black painted screws and drilled through the front frame of the window in a deliberate even pattern and it looks fine. The inside ring I just used pin nails with a small amount of panel adhesive behind the trim ring. I finished my door and both sides of the ring before installing it.

Thanks everyone for all the information. The consensus seems to be to drill and screw from the outside and use the trim rings to dress out the interior. I am guessing that that is how I will be going about mounting mine. I feel pretty comfortable with buying these used windows and installing them. Now to find the sizes I am looking for in his ebay store.

Tom, I just bought a front window from another supplier on ebay because it had the trim ring, spent $50+ more . . .and I can't use the trim ring. I would need walls 2" thick to use it. The trim ring is also really flimsy, any mounting idea would be better than this thing. I might run screws through the grooves on the interior side, but going right through the front is looking pretty good right now also.

Thanks Dave, that is good to know. I am in the process of planning my trip to see BDS. When I dug around in his Ebay store, he had lots of things that would be helpful, like roof vents, and light fixtures, and water pumps. and.......... I'm going to figure out which method to use after I have my windows in hand. Which needs to be soon, I need to know how to frame them out.
