Minimalist Teardrop opinion... not for camping (pics + vids)

Well, a little backstory. I would like to build a teardrop, not for camping, but for hauling. I drive a Ford Freestyle (V6), so pulling something like a 6x10 covered trailer isn't in the cards, and those trailers are going locally for $1000 plus. I plan to haul bicycles similar to this, but enclose in a Td:

My wife and I race cyclocross... if you don't know what cyclocross is, check out this quick video:

Cyclocross is a fall/winter cycling discipline, so weather can be foul, so it'd be nice to have some way to transport bikes (up to 3 hours to races, over the highway) that is out of the elements, and only 2 fit inside the vehicle... Yes, 2 people need 3-4 bikes and up to 4 different wheelsets for this discipline haha, plus bike washer, tools, chairs, food, water bla bla bla.
Anyhow, I obviously don't plan on insulating, adding a galley etc, however, I still want it to be asthetically pleasing. I have masured the bikes, and 3 bikes should fit across a 4' platform 'head to tail'.
The question is, could I make a frame and skin out of FRP panels and wood? Floor would still be covered in roofing tar and all of the interior boards painted/waterproofed and would likely be treated lumber. I would basically build it relatively water resistant and it would have a standard hatch in the rear like a standard Td. I would like to use a shape that doesn't necessarily use radius corners, but that is up for debate (depending on interior dimensions). I am likely to screw up those curved edges when building the braces. But i definately don't just want to pull a covered box wagon with a tarp to these races (It'd make the team look a little too hillbilly)..
I am concerned about structural rigidity of this build. I am open to building with plywood and covering with FRP, but don't know if it necessary. This would be a nice looking utility trailer essentially.
I'd likely still trim with angle aluminum around edges and build doors in the sides (for access to bike 'lockdowns').
I am going to work on drawing up some plans this weekend, and can attach photos if my intent is not clear
Thanks all, and please let me know what you think
