Why are the doors on most teardrop trailers rounded on top? Just for looks?

The radiused corners also are easier to seal. Water proofing is harder with a hard angle.

Secondarily, a point gives stress a place to start cracking. If you radius the corner the potential stresses are spread out over inches or feet. You get a stronger side.

That's what I think - all part of the teardrop styling.

Myself, I'm particularly partial to doors with four sharp corners but a rounded top - if it was good enough for the Grumman and the Cub (the two prettiest trailers, I think), it's good enough for me.

I'd agree. Flat straight lines are much easier to construct with, but in my opinion, if you are going to put all the effort into building one, why not give it some flair and style. It's not that much more effort and you don't end up saying to yourself...."man I wish I would have done some better design on the door" after it's all said and done. Doug

I think it just looks better to me, YMMV.
