If I use a sandwich of 1x6's for my floor frame with 1/2 plywood top would this give me enough meat to screw my sides to? (ie just the inch in the middle for screws)

Should I put a couple of bolts through the trailer frame and walls (2 per side) for good measure?

The half inch floor is thick enough. That is what I put down. Also for bolts yes two should be fine on each side. I did 5 5/16 on each side and then two on the front and rear. A lot of over kill but at the time I didn't have the knowledge I have now. With the amount of bolts ur planning you should withstand around 800mph before u have issues.

Actually a 1x2 should be sufficient.

so with 1 inch being the side the wall will be screwed to, this would be thick enough? just dont want screws splitting the 1 inch wood

If you're concerned with splitting, pre drill the screw holes.

My walls are glued and screwed into my floor which is 1x2 "flat" and 1/4" plywood top and bottom. I did pre-drill the holes in the wall before I stood it up, and pre-drilled the holes in the floor edge after the walls were stood up.

Another technique I saw - from Madjack - was to tie the walls and floor together using continuous aluminum angle along the length of the floor. (I think he used 1" x 1" x 1/16" or 3/4" x 3/4" x 1/16".) He drilled holes in each leg of the aluminum for screws into the wall and floor.
