Teardop supplies

Postby Nordicsun » Sun Aug 26, 2012 9:50 pm

I'm building my first TD and having a real hard time finding a place to get molding, trim and windows etc. that doesn't charge an arm and leg for shipping. I'm willing to pay a fair price, but I'd like to stay in my budget.

Try a local RV dealer. Try to find a larger one that handles repairs and warranty work. You may find windows at a large auto junk yard they usually have a few campers and motorhomes that you can get salvage parts from. I used an RV door (cut down to fit) and windows from salvage. New windows and doors are usually very expensive. There are a few online dealers including Ebay that sell windows and doors. I bought my trim from my local RV dealer at less that $40 per 12' section which was much cheaper than ordering. It was insert molding in mill finish which is what I was looking. Most RV's currently use moldings in colors so he was happy to sell me the mill finish.
