Having just completed my installation of 2 "Redline 9139 enclosed trailer vents"
http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=51731&p=956292#p956292and finalized my plans for at-home and in-camp powered fan(s) for air circulation under most circumstances, I was just given an old steel Flettner Ventilator by a friend who was there for my vent installation. He said that it had laid around his house forever, and he thinks he brought it back from Europe years ago.... I've researched this vent and found that it is common equipment on the rooftops of vans around the world (I've never seen one here before in the US). It seems that it works to ventilate when a vehicle is in motion, or when the wind is blowing at 10 or more mph. It is roof mounted , and supposedly won't admit wind-driven water. Since I've already put in cabin vents, would it be worthwhile to mount it over my rear compartment, to ventilate gas fumes etc. from the generator, fuel tank, gas can, and bateery stored back there? That's where my cooking gear will be also. Reluctant to cut another hole , 3 inch diameter, especially in the roof, but it might be a good idea. And free also! Do any of you (especially the Brits) have any experience with the Flettner?
