They're polycarbonate panels, 0.63 inches thick and available in 4x8 foot sheets. They are pricey ($100ish per panel) but they're meant to withstand flying debris during hurricanes AND they have a 10 year UV warranty. Looks like Lowes even sells some aluminum hardware meant to bolt these suckers to your windows, which could be modded to for use on teardrops...
