Is a larger tire possible? If not a smaller fender.

Definitely need a larger wheel AND a smaller fender. Fenders are cheap! Like here for example: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/ ... tt=fenders

I'm with Steve,

It looks odd (not good) because the proportions are not correct.

Cutting a bit off the bottom of the fenders will leave you with a fender that is still too large for the wheel, but that now looks like part of it is missing...

If you can stand back a bit and take a picture of the trailer, it may be easier to visualize the difference in proportions from the trailer body, to the wheels, to the fenders.
A basic simple way to "try" different sized wheels and or fenders is by cutting out a silhouette of the trailer photo, and fitting new parts to it.

How much is the wheel under the trailer? From the picture it looks like the wheel is outside the frame. If it's close could you use wheel spacers? Otherwise if it were me I would order a new axle that would allow me to get the wheels out from under the trailer and use fenders that match your wheel size.

That fender needs a flying lesson

If you are prepared to cut up and make those fenders work to your liking (as opposed to something that is readily available on the market), then you may find it much easier to start from scratch and build your own from clean stock. That is, if you will only settle for that "just right" look.

I would look long and hard at off the shelf options before I would attempt either mod or scratch build fenders.

I bought jeep style aluminum febders for TPCE and am fearful that they will be too short across the top and too long at front and rear; may have to cut a section off the bottom and section it into the top to cover my 31 inch tires. :frightened: Getting them to look smooth and straight without a bunch of body filler and paint takes skill that not everyone has, myself included (I'm a fair metal worker and I hate body work).

 It also looks like it might be on the wrong side and therefore on backwards?

This is a true scale drawing showing the finished profile of the TD that I am building. The fenders will be made of fiberglass laid over a foam former. The foam will be removed when finished to produce the glass "shell". The fenders are about 8" wide. These will then be fastened to the sides of the TD. I am considering making the rear half of the fender as a sealed box structure to carry light stuff that will be easy to get to on the road. For a comparison of size and dimensions, the door is 49 1/2" high and 31 1/2" wide. The tire rims are 14". If this shape appeals to you or anybody, feel free to copy, transfer, modify or utilize in your own design.
