Suitcase dresser

Postby Hillmann » Fri Nov 23, 2012 2:16 pm

I have found that suitcases come in very handy when using a camper, it keeps clothes clean, off the floor and all in on place. I am thinking something like this would be a good way to keep things stored neatly in a standie. http://cdn.dornob.com/wp-content/upload ... er-set.jpg

I love it. Mount the suitcases on full extension drawer glides and, maybe, cut out the tops of the lids............or not.

Or get some plastic bins, the correct size for your needs, and build
the rest of the 'dresser' to fit them. I believe Airstream tried something
similar in the 1960s, i.e. high grade plastic bins you could take out and pack in the
house and then place in the appropriate cabinet in the trailer.

Of course, the plastic bins wouldn't be as 'neat' looking as the old
suitcases.

The fact that the suitcases have lids would be in the way in the cabinet but it you remove them then you can no longer use them as suitcases between the house, car and camper; which is the whole point of using suitcases. The full extension drawer slides would be nice.
