Need a source for a narrower tongue jack

When I bought this trailer, the tongue jack was bent, rusted, and not repairable (see picture). I managed to grind off the welded rivets and pull the old one out. The hole is slightly less than 2" across, and all the tongue jacks I see advertised are 2.25" wide. I could cut a larger opening, but it is pretty thick steel and I'd have to cut top and bottom and repaint the hole thing. Any source ideas for a narrower jack? Thanks

Why not ditch the entire setup and use a swing back jack?

I agree with Bruce. My experience with an A-frame jack ended with mine looking like the one you just cut off. The swing back is great.

I'll check them out. The swing-backs I've used before always looked like an afterthought and never seemed very secure, but I'll see what's available.

If you go with a side mount, don't buy the low end stuff at Harbor Freight. Lots of horror stories on those units. I bought mine at Northern Tool and it is very substantial. Also, the wheel comes in very handy for maneuvering your trailer when it is off the hitch.
I avoided the A-frame jack because every one I had seen had been bent back from dragging the ground. None of them crank high enough to avoid damage sooner or later.

This jack might work. 750# Bulldog w/wheel. I get mine at Tractor Supply.

It will fit the 2" hole, but you'll need to grind a bit of a notch in the mounting plate for the gear to clear. The shaft retracts all the way up flush with the frame & the wheel drops out. No more bent shafts.

I found one 1"7/8 can not remember where was about 1 year ago. Took a full day of searching. Ken
