Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Ok, so you guys have me hooked on the idea of making my own tear. Many of you mention the Harbor Freight trailer but I is not available here in Ontario, Canada. Has anyone used the trailers that Homedepot or Walmart sells?

I scratch built my frame...but I do have a Home Depot utility 4x8 from a manufacturer called Haulin A$$....It's a welded frame, tilting...which would help in cleaning out the galley... not a bolt together...It does OK for hauling firewood etc....but there is some frame flex in it....a tear body would take care of that though....stiffen it all up...It was a bargain at 275$ as they couldn't find the lighting package for it....a kid finally found the lights so that was a freebee for me...longest trip it has made..maybe 200 mi. one way...no problems....I think the real big thing is how you want to use it....you aren't going to be able to hammer a lighter frame down the road....but it will give you better mileage and cost savings from the get go....Just my thoughts on it....Doug

I think Fornesto used the Snowbear trailer from HD. Maybe a builder from Alaska did too. I have one for a utility trailer and it's the best money I've ever spent. I've had it really loaded down and on long trips. Never a problem in the 2+ years I've had. I thought about using it for my tear, but I didn't want to give it up. Jim
