Hey there, I'm hoping that someone out there can help me. We're planning on using a window and door from vintage technologies but we can't seem to find cut out dimensions anywhere, we emailed them but no reply. The walls are ready to go up and I'd really like to cut them out prior to going vertical.

Door - 26" x 32" drivers side
Window - 24" x 15" horizontal

Thanks for looking at least,
Cheers

You might try to call Vintage for the information. If he hasn't answered he may be out of town - I think you will find him very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. A bunch of us on this forum and Tearjerkers have ordered from him in the past as he has quality parts and good service.

Best to go ahead and buy the parts and use the frames for templates. I used their doors and there is not a lot of tolerance between the inner ring (used as template) and the outer edge of the door frame and seal. Also, the corners are rounded. If you are off just a bit you will have a gap to fill around the edge. They ship very quickly so you would have the parts in just a few days. (check my pics and journal if you want to see how to use the frame as a template)

When installing, I found it easier to pre-drill pilot holes for the "self-tapping" screws. I couldn't get them to start on their own even with my most powerful drill. Also, by pre-drilling before installation, it makes it easier to set the screws when you are struggling to get all the parts in place and lined up properly. Definitely a two-person job.

I can't speak for the windows, but for the door cutouts, you can measure 26x32, with 3" radius corners. Email Frank Bear @ [email protected] and he'll be more than happy to help. Or just call him @ (269) 665-9060

Thanks for the suggestions and advice. We did email frank but didn't receive a reply, but I'm going to be ordering the door this weekend so Ill probably just wait to have them on hand before I cut the hole. I managed to scrounge a sliding window from an old ambulance that my buddy's dad was parting out so the only hole left will be the door, gotta love freebies :)

Thanks again for the input
