Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I finally got the taxs paid this week and my wife said I could start on the teardrop (I can't believe she thought that was more important women go figure )any way I was wondering what was the best type of glue to buy to build the floor tite bond,elmer or gorilla ect.

YES

...wars fought, leaders deposed, countries have fallen all on this question ...On a straight wood to wood connection it is hard to beat titebond(2r3). For joining disimilar material Gorilla is a good choice...if you use Gorilla be sure to read the directions to get proper adhesion(dampen one side of glue surface)...Now others may fire their shots at will.....(duck Will duck)

p.s. oh yeah, lets us not for get polyurethane based construction adhesive...pretty good stuff also

Any water resistant glue will work. I've used both titebond II and gorilla glue. Both work equally well. Of course, I've also got a few screws in there too, just as a safety factor.

I used Gorilla Glus and PL polyurethane Conctruction Adhesive. Personally I started to only use the PL, I think it has great hplding power and is easier to use. It seems to have some give after it is dry.

I used PL construction adhesive on all of the floor stuff. the floor to the 2x2s and the floor to the trailer. It seems to wrok really great for all kinds of joints that you can clamp together.

For me....if it has the chance of being exposed to water etc....I used epoxy...but then I've got a bunch of it left over from boat building....also used titebond, gorilla and PL at different places in the build....Doug

Yep, that's what I used. Gets lots of good reviews. Better than liquid nails.

Thanks everybody went with tite-bond it says excellentwater-resistance
ideal for exterior applcations I've used it for other projects with good results.just wanted to make sure I was on the right track .

Not to change the subject, but how do you put picture in your
albumn not to compooter smarter

...Mike, the first thing you will have to do is make sure the pic is no bigger than 800x600 pix, I generally resize to 640x480 for quicker upload times and to help out those on dialup...if you don't know how to resize, then you will have to get a pic editor to do that job, irfanview, paintshop, photoshop are just a few of the programs that will resize a pic, then goto albums in the buttons at the top of board goto your personal gallery(it was made the day you joined the board) and goto upload pic, browse for the resized pic and click on it...see wasn't that easy(really it is)

I used PL Construction Adhesive, Gorilla Glue and Titebond III on my Cubby.

I used PL in areas where I had to lay down large amount of glue fast with a caulking gun such as my floor, attaching side skins and the exterior roof skin.

I used Gorilla Glue along with pocket screws to assemble my face frames, bulkheads and internal cabinet frames. The problem with Gorilla Glue is that it's messy to work with. It foams out and doesn't clean up easily. However, it can be sanded. So, I think it's a good choice for assembling unfinished pieces.

I used Titebond III around finished areas. Titebond doesn't foam out and the wet glue can be cleaned up with a rag.

I don't think there is a right glue for all situation. They all have advantages and disadvantages.
