Hi there, im about to do the edge moulding on my hatch lid and want to continue using normal cope moulding for the edges.
Im using this type

I dont want to go down the rubber strip type to hide the pop rivets as I dont fancy having the rubber showing on the outside.

Ill be using 3mm alu bar on the inside. Therefore can you get a rubber seal that will hide the ugly side of the pop rivets?

Crude diagram attached!

Above im trying to show a rubber seal idea, the trough in the middle would hide the pop rivet heads?

Any help or better suggestions would be great!

You could use ordinary rectangular section rubber and drill a little hole, part way through, where each rivet extends through the bottom of the 3mm bar. You could, also, use self tapping Tek Screws and cut them flush after installation

Instead of rivets, you may want to use Chicago screws and nuts (also sometimes called sex bolts or barrel bolts.) These will give you a nearly flush surface.

Didn't even know they existed. You can only get nickel plated ones easily in the uk, would these be weather proof?

Check around the marine supply / repair shops they may have stainless or brass.

After having a look, I think using 'D' rubber stripping with just the hole drilled out will do.
