Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I was at Lowe's last night and came across some drop ceiling framing. My question is this would it be a substitute for T molding considering it is T shaped and fairly rigid.I haven't installed it around my doors just yet I wanted some other more experienced builders thoughts..

p.s. it will be used around my entry doors that are rectangle shaped.

I used conventional aluminum door/weatherstrip stop and theshhold when I built the Ctear.

Works great, seals well with no leakage!

The ceiling grid will rust after a short while. I left some outside that I tore out of a building that I remodeling, and it rusted in a couple of months or less (not a problem for me since it was going to the recycler anyways). It also has a thicker center rib that gives it strength. It's usually made of 2 pieces, the part that you see then the rib inside, they are crimped together. Not sure if you could make it work.

HVM I looked at that also ,but decided that the plastic did not look sturdy enough to take any abuse & maybe tear out the screw if bumped or cought on something. So i went with alum t molding from a casrpet shop. Just a thought .

Thanks for the replies.. It is 2 part but it is made of alum... Have a pic in my gallery. Just a thought since the local R.v. places don't carry /or understand what I speak of.

...if you have a flooring center near you, go there and ask for 'hatch molding/trim"

p.s. the "dead soft" T molding sold by RW Johnson, SOCAL Teardrops, Lil Bear and other TD parts places is great stuff...however that shipping buggabear is involved

thanks MadJack.The shipping rates are what was keeping me from ordering as little as poss. Being an ex-truck driver I know the fuel bills are getting higher and the pay stays the same, and the price charged for shipping goes up!!

Maybe we could start a tag team that will pick-up a part say in California the Arizona guy could meet half way drive it half way to say New Mexico then he would drive half way to Texas and so on. Or maybe it's just cheaper to ship it.

Guys, If ya gota have it, ya gota get it. I got my T molding and other molding from Lil Bear, and I paid dearly in frieght to get to Alaska.
