Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I am the stage of my build where I am hanging my door. I am looking for lock /handle suggestions. I have 3/4" thick walls on my camper and don't find much made to fit this size except screen and storm door hardware.

I have used paddle handles in 3/4" material although you may find that you have to put a backer plate behind the latch though because the mortise for the lock will usually cut almost all the way through your 3/4" material.

I used regular door handles from Home Depot (I think $8.00 each)

RV trailer lock. I believe they adjust down to 3/4" up to 1-1/4" but you'll have to check. If they don't you can always add a spacer on the inside just larger than the lock.

You have to look thru to see the national hardware slide lock on the far door.



These are great for simple surface mounting and they have a turn knob to assure the slide is not slipped open by accident if you choose to engage it.

I used a security screen door latch and dead bolt set, coupled with a mending plate for the dead bolt to latch onto.

Mine are lockable from the outside....inside I use simple hook and loop screen door kinda things...and a 357 magnum....for bears and stuff.

Depends on how fancy/elaborate or how basic/KISS you want to make it. For traditionality and reliable simplicity with both outside and inside security, it's hard to beat the simple outside locking L-Handle with lockable inside door latch: http://www.lilbear.teardrops.net/parts2 ... oorhandles
