I could not find any unfibered roof coating in my lowes found this at tractor supply

I guarantee you it's the exact same stuff in that can that it's in MY Gardner's can, which is labeled for roof use. This might be of a little thinner consistency, the roof stuff is pretty gooey, so maybe you'll want to do 2 coats. But if it IS gooey, one is enough.

Same stuff, different packaging.

...Mike I do believe that will work just fine...the key word on the label is "penetrates"

Thanks Ira and Jack I'm concerned it's not like the stuff I've read about on this sight It smells like tar but dries very fast first coat 35min put on the second coat completely dry in 2 hours but it does penetrates I cut my stiring stick and you can see it in the grain.

It'll be fine, I'm sure. My stuff stayed gooey for awhile before drying, but that might have had to do with the high humidity down here.

It's main purpose is to protect the underside while you're driving and it's raining. Some people even just use paint, and they keep an eye on it over time to make sure it's still covering good.
