Do they mix together? Is it a better option to lay multiple coats of clear?

Yes, You can spray it with HVLP or siphon. It helps to thin it a little, no more than 10%. Also watch the overspray it gets nasty. And clean that gun right after use. It sets up fast and will ruin that gun.

I used a HVLP sprayer from Harbor Frieght with Minwax Spar Urethane and it came out great.

I was expecting to need to thin it but it was a warm day (in the 80s) and I didn't need to. Put on several coats over two days with a light sanding in between.

Just make sure you mask everything you don't want sprayed.
