Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

I am exploring all different finish options for my planned travel trailer. Just ordered a HF 4x8 trailer. Taking my time doing research.

I have considered aluminum as a outer covering and am also looking into RotDoctor products CPES and Elasta-Tuff 6000.

I'm considering any flexible, thick, and durable finish that I can apply directly to the wood.

I have come across this curious product called Plasti Dip. It is a coating that can be sprayed or brushed and hardens to a flexible rubbery coating. I don't quite understand what the phenomeno around it is. People seem to be spraying their cars with it quite a lot which I find pretty odd at the moment.. I must be missing something. Apparently it's used a lot of tool handles, car rims, trailers, truck beds and so forth.

Anyone ever used it to coat the outer shell of a teardrop or similar travel trailer?

There is the sprayed urethane stuff commonly called truckbed liner, It will stick well to most anything..
Can be applied in multiple coats to what ever thickness one might want.
There are several brands of it.
I understand some shops are kind of weird about accepting a job, if its not a pick-up truck bed they wont touch it.
I personally know of others will spray anything you are willing to pay for.

There is a product over here called Wunderseal its a rubberised underseal product but can be overpainted. It is useful as an underseal on fibreglass and when stones are thrown round the wheel arch the rubber absorbs any impacts and the stone doesnt damage the fibreglass.

I have a little experience with Plasti-Dip, and was favorably impressed. About 18 months ago, I sprayed two coats of the black on the grille of my HHR. I didn't like the factory silver/argent look or the pitting that was beginning to occur (during my 120 mile daily commute, my vehicle is subject to a constant peppering of sand and gravel from all the road construction and the trucks that transport the material). Also, I wanted to replicate the black/textured look of some other parts of the front end. So I sprayed it, not really sure of future outcome. To my surprise, the effect was as desired, and much more durable and protective than I expected. There has been some wear, and abrading, and one spot took a direct hit from tire tread, but not enough to need to recoat after 50k miles. I will recoat in a month or so, and use it also to cover over the polyurethane drips on my trailer's fenders (should've covered 'em!). However, I got Plasti-Dip at Home Depot; on my last trip there Monday, it had been replaced by a Rustoleum product. If I can't find the original...that may be my substitute.

I'm on a motorcycle forum, and one of the guys took a virtually new Suzuki, and painted all the painted surfaces with Plastidip, in a matt metallic grey. very mean & moody! But he reckons if he ever changes his mind, he can just snik it with a sharp blade, pick at the edge, and peel it off! Here's a guy doing something similar with his car wheels:
