Under Coating

Postby BrockGrimes » Fri Mar 15, 2013 6:11 pm

Guys I've been working on jeeps for years and we use undercoating and are always looking at ways to make it last and make it water proof.
After reading this forum for awhile I decided to add some input on coatings.
I like 2 coatings 3m undercoat and U-Pol Raptor Spray-On Truck Bed Liner.

I and others use these on jeeps, boxes, inside, outside you name it.
Some guys even coat the whole jeep in it.

The 3m stuff is pretty standard black and comes in several versions, your choice.

The one I really want to bring to your attention and the one I plan on using when I build a trailer is the U-Pol Raptor liner.
I really like this stuff because it's tintable. The first time I saw it, it was being used in a jeep build:

This is an amazing build if your into jeeps.

But he used raptor liner and tinted it to match his rescue green jeep.

I plan on using it on the outside and underneath the trailer.

A side note I've seen Line-x used in test for bomb proofing, if it'll hold up to a car bomb it'll survive under a trailer.
I've seen all these coatings sprayed directly on wood, dog boxes, boats, and such.

Hopefully I can start a build soon myself.
