Newbie question -- I'm using SketchUp to design a 10' TD on an 8' Northern Tool trailer frame. The front and back is curved in at the bottom, but there is about a foot overhang higher up. Is this a dumb idea or am I asking for problems by doing this?

NOPE !
however opinions may vary "Chubby" is 10' nose to tail on an 8' frame with a foot over at front and a foot at the rear.

and my 10' "Barn to be wild" has a 2' cantilever at the front off of an 8 foot frame.

Take a look at the Command Post. 13 feet overall length and 77 inches wide on an HF 4X8 frame. (Link to build in signature) You will be fine if you build a solid floor structure and tie the walls and roof in firmly. All the parts share the load and stiffen the structure.

Thanks Jeff. I will read the build journal. I like the portable garage idea too. I will check that out.
