Need help/suggestions for building door

My trailer is aluminum skin over 1/2" (really 15/32")plywood, then 1" pink foam insulation, and 1/8" ply on the inside. Technically, my total wall thickness is about 1 5/8". I'd like to build my door essentially the same way. Could someone point to a good thread on the proper trim and such to put around the perimeter of my door opening and the perimeter of my door. I'll use T-molding, but I'll need some rubber gasket things to seal it (I'm guessing) and probably some aluminum channel to wrap the door opening? Sound about right?
I've got a source for hinges, but suggestions for a door opening mechanism (like a latch) would be very helpful. Thanks in advance!

OB,
Our doors are a lamination of ply (inner) ally sheet (middle) and steel (outer).
Windows are standard caravan wind outs.
The doors seal against the body using a flat seal and P seal.
Lined inside.
Locks are standard household but with the mechanism reversed. Knob on the body.
The two black box section stiffeners visible give the door a slight curve which ensures the door pulls up hard against the body when closed. The box section looks wider than actual due to shadow. It is 25mm or 1 inch box section.
The doors close with a satisfactory 'thunk.'

OB,
For info the inner plywood part of the door fits in the door hole as the plug. It is the section that was removed from the side sheet, trimmed to size. The ally and steel sheet outer layers overlap the door hole to provide the seal attach surface.
