Teardrops n Tiny Travel Trailers

Hi all,
I've been looking around the forums and have not found the "Building a Teardrop trailer for Dummies" forum yet.

I figured out step one - I will use a folding HF 4x8 Trailer and plan on having the deck extend pass the frame and over the wheel; this should give me an extra foot. Now for step two - decide how to secure the floor (Camper) to the frame.

Are there different methods for securing the floor to the trailer?

What it s the most common means for a permanent attachment?

Are there any tips / techniques that I can use, if I want to make my camper removable?

I guess I want (not need) the trailer to be kinda multipurpose (Primary - Teardrop Camper, Secondary - Harley Hauler).

All comments and suggestions welcome and appreciated.

First thing: don't plan on keeping the framework foldable...too many possible failure points. Either bolt together with nylocks at least, or better yet, weld it together (be sure to square it up). Second thing: making a removable cabin will require a heavier structure, since you will have to reinforce the corners to maintain trueness in reinstalling it on the frame, so a "toy-hauler" approach would be preferable, but again, possibly heavier than your foldable trailer was design for (I know, my build probably has grown too heavy for the axle, and requires a stouter one). And as to securing the base/floor to the frame: I used 3/8" galvanized carriage bolts thru the floor to the crossmembers, and tek screws thru the floor around the perimeter of the framework. Just my way: over done, but won't shake loose. I always overdid things like this in dragracing
