What thickness of aluminum?

I am about to source some aluminum for the roof of the teardrop I'm going to build.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to what thickness I should look for?

My 4 x 9 has .040 on the roof and .032 on the sides floated over light framing and blue foam insulation. The .040 is much more substantial than the .032 as the sides show some light creases from putting on the sides without a helper (probably not a good idea). In the end either would work well but anything thinner would be really hard to work with.

I always suggest nothing lighter than .040" and nothing heavier than .050" ... unless you've got really gentle curves, then .063" will work (but really is a bit too thick, unless you don't have any sheathing under). Continued Good Luck, and as always ...

CHEERS!
